Temporary residents

If you’re a temporary resident, your employer can make SG payments to your super fund and your super will remain in your fund for as long as you’re in Australia.

When you leave Australia, you need to claim your super from your fund within six months or your super will be paid to the Commonwealth as unclaimed money. You can claim your super from the Commonwealth at any time. If you have unclaimed money, contact the Australian Tax Office on 13 10 20.
