Occupational ratings and insurance scales

The occupational rating is the classification that the insurer applies to your insurance premium (cost) depending on the nature of your job.

For example, generally, occupations that don’t perform manual duties and work in an office or similar environment like a manager, accountant or administrator, may fall within the Management/Clerical (white collar) scale. The Light Blue collar scale may include light manual duties, like a cook, chef, waiter, barista or room attendant. Heavy Blue collar scale occupations may include skilled or semi-skilled manual workers and/or heavy machinery operators, for example; gaming machine staff, laundry staff, commercial cleaner or security guard.

Please refer to the Membership form in the Member Guide to determine the occupational ratings that may apply to you or contact us on 1300 799 998  to assist you in determining your occupational rating.

Special insurance offer for new members

When joining HOSTPLUS Executive, as a one-off special offer to new members, you have the opportunity to increase your Death and TPD insurance without providing a full health statement and/or apply for Salary Continuance cover. See the Member Guide for further details.

This special offer only applies to new members who do not have special insurance arrangements via their employer, or have opted out of employer sponsored insurance arrangements.
